Overview

Located in Gilgit-Baltistan in the western Himalayas, the Around Nanga Parbat Trek is one of Pakistan’s most demanding and rewarding long-distance treks. The route circles the massive bulk of Nanga Parbat (8,126m), revealing dramatically different landscapes in the Diamir, Rupal, and Raikot valleys. Trekkers traverse high alpine meadows, rugged moraines, glaciers, and challenging mountain passes—most notably the Mazeno Pass—while following sections of the Indus River along the mountain’s base. Known as the ‘Killer Mountain,’ Nanga Parbat dominates the trek with its immense scale and raw beauty. This trek is suitable only for experienced high-altitude trekkers seeking a true expedition-style Himalayan adventure.
