Overview
Situated between Skardu, Astore, and Kharmang in Gilgit-Baltistan, Deosai Plateau lies at an average elevation of around 4,114m and is often referred to as the ‘Land of Giants.’ As the second highest plateau in the world after the Tibetan Changtang Plateau, Deosai covers an area of approximately 3,000 square kilometers and forms part of the Karakoram–West Tibetan Plateau alpine eco-region. Accessible during the summer months, the plateau transforms into a colorful landscape of wildflowers, flowing streams, and abundant wildlife, including Himalayan brown bears, marmots, and a wide variety of birdlife. The Deosai Plateau Tour is ideal for nature lovers, photographers, and travelers seeking a unique high-altitude experience without technical trekking or mountaineering.
